Always Anxious? How Anxiety Hypnosis Can Help You Relax And What To Expect

Posted on

With all the negative things going on in the world today, anxiety is a common problem many people experience. Feeling anxious all the time is exhausting and can cause you to lose sleep and perform poorly at work and school. Anxiety hypnosis may be a helpful treatment to help you get your life back on track again.

Getting started

When you go for your first anxiety hypnosis therapy session, your hypnotist will spend time discussing your anxiety to find out what you need to focus on or any fears and anxieties you find troubling. It is important that your hypnosis is guided to target specific areas you need to work on. You will be able to ask questions about how the procedure works, so you know what to expect.

Visualizations

At the beginning of your hypnosis session, you will be asked to think about a place that is relaxing for you. It is important that you choose a location that is significant for you, and not the typical beach or tropical scene commonly imagined if that is not what brings you peace. This can be an actual place or a place you remember from a book or movie.

Focus

The second step in hypnosis usually involves focusing your eye on a specific object in the room or on a wall. This is often referred to as eye fascination and will help you relax even further to achieve a more relaxed state. It is important to follow the guidance of your hypnotist closely to get the most from your hypnosis session.

Progressive relaxation

To help you achieve a final relaxed state, your hypnotist will ask you to imagine a relaxing sensation spreading over various parts of your body. You may imagine this feeling as a sensation of warmth or visualize it as how you would feel if you were covered up with a warm blanket. Once you are fully relaxed your hypnotist will be able to guide you through various visualizations to help target the things that are causing you anxiety before bringing you out of your relaxed state.

If you find yourself feeling anxious on a consistent basis you are not alone. While anxiety is rather common, nobody enjoys feeling on edge all the time, and it can be disruptive in both your personal and professional life. Trying anxiety hypnosis may be the answer to your ongoing anxiety issues and can be effective alone or when used as a supplement with therapy and medication.
